Would you follow Jesus in today’s world?

Please note that no names are real…I just sorta grabbed them out of thin air. Also be advised that this blog is highly offensive so if your on the “I feel sorry for myself” side, Do Not Read This! And oh yeah..I am talking about myself as well…after all, I got the message before you guys did…think about it!

In a world where popularity rules and success is based on popularity and monetary things. In a world where speaking the truth is considered rude and uncalled for. In a world where bad news are sugar coated and swept under the rug. In a world where, as long as you wear the “C-Stamp” (Christian), you’re ok.

Would you follow Jesus in today’s world?

Now please don’t do the typical gesture everyone is expecting you to do and scream yes!

Fact is, most of you would be right there with the Pharisee’s, the doubter’s finger pointer’s, spectator’s and those making fun of him.

In the last few years it has been quite a ride in today’s church world. The simple fact, that a woman with multiple children and no job,or a homeless person with bad attitude is more excepted in the world than the church, it’s outrageous and quite frankly…NON-CHRIST LIKE!

When Jesus walked the earth, he invited the “scum”. he loved the very ones, church folks didn’t want anything to do with. Who are you tending to these days? When was the last time you bathed and fed a man/woman on the street? When was the last time you talked to Cindy the prostitute and prayed long and hard to help her to a better life?

When was the last time Edgar the gay guy was at your house because you are teaching him the word in love?

ALL BIG NO NO’S right? What would the neighbors think? What if someone from church see’s me talking to this “thug”?

Did Jesus care what the “CHURCH” thought??? NO!

You have this crazy idea that just because someone commits an obvious sin, they are worse than you. I hate to break the news, and you can turn it, switch it and try to fit the word of God to your needs all you want, but in the end it says this:

Romans 3:23 (NIV)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory
of God…

Yeah…I know, it’s tough. But if you have told a “white lie” (no such thing Mister and Mrs, sugar coated), you have sinned! If you continue to take pencils from work because your too cheap to buy them, you have sinned! If you keep talking about Mrs.Sanders because she just does not do what you wish her to do, you have sinned! If you stand in front of an abortion clinic protesting and threatening people, you have sinned…the list goes on.

Phew…some of you really hate me by now…I dare say most stopped reading because the “offense flag” is raised HIGH!!!

We are eager to state we are Christians because for some reason the “C-Stamp” (thank you Ariella Wolfsohn for this awesome word), gives us some kind of leverage in the world.

But the truth is, if you are popular and loved by the world, chances are you’re just wearing the “C-Stamp” and you really do not apply. Because if you would…well…the world wouldn’t like you so much anymore…they hated Jesus and they will hate you.

John 15:18

18“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

We judge other religions because of their acts but the truth is (and don’t you dare running off stating:”Bianca says it’s ok to follow other religions”), all I am saying is…if we would have half the commitment to our God and the human race as some of those religions ( I chose not to be specific but you know who I am talking about), we would have a better world  and we would run to God with our every problem, disgust and issue instead of telling (gossiping), to our neighbor, friend, Facebook.

Would you follow Jesus in today’s world? Pray about it…ask God if all you do is to glorify his name. Be an exception as Jesus was and join forces with God’s warriors…those who do not care what people think because you know your doing God’s work.

John states- Love one another-….that is huge people…not those who love you back…love those who hate you,,,those who don’t return favors (that is a big one ey?)

I pray today that God grants us the willingness to do as Jesus did. I pray our Father give us strength to be different (not indifferent) and make a difference today and the next day and so on.

If any of you want to add to this, please feel free to comment…I ask you to back it up in the word not in your own mind because quite frankly…opinion matters not!

  1. Amen and ouch!! The one who is souled out to Christ will not buy into the leaven of the Pharisee. Jesus said that we should compel them to come in not expel or rebuke them if they do not fit “our norm.” Luke 14:23
    New International Version (NIV)
23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.
Interesting that in spite of all the church buildings on any given Sunday very few are “full” and even fewer souls are full.
We are told to snatch souls from the very fire:
    Jude 1:23
    New International Version (NIV)
23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.[a]
